Golf Course Staff
Tashua is proud of our entire staff — from our Starters and Pro Shop attendants to our 'behind the scenes' office staff, grounds crew, and restaurant personnel. All play an important role in contributing to your recreation here at Tashua. The golf course and related facilities are town-owned and operated as an Enterprise Fund with oversight provided by an all-volunteer Golf Commission appointed by the First Selectman.

Bobby Brown
— PGA Director of Golf
Bobby joined Tashua at the start of the 2005 season and was a welcome contributor to the successful launch of the 9-hole Tashua Glen course in August 2005. Prior to Tashua, Bobby spent 10 years as Head Golf Professional at Okeeheelee Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. During his tenure in Palm Beach County, Bobby made significant contributions to junior golf earning the South Florida PGA Section Junior Golf Leader award twice and the Southeast chapter PGA Junior Golf Leader award five times. Bobby was also founder of the nonprofit Junior Golf Foundation of America. Bobby is a 1990 graduate of Bryant University, collegiate golf All-American, and in 2009 was inducted as a member of the Bryant Sports Hall of Fame. In 2010, Bobby was awarded Master Teacher status with U.S. Kids Golf. He now resides in Trumbull with his wife and three daughters.


Jon Janik
— PGA Head Golf Professional
PGA Head Golf Professional Jon Janik joined Tashua Knolls at the beginning of the 2003 season. Jon grew up playing at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course where he won the 1997 Junior Club Championship and the 2002 Men's Club Championship. He began working in the golf industry while in college. In 2000, he was offered a position at the Ivan Lendl Golf and Tennis Camp, where he would eventually spend three summers. After graduating from Fairfield University, Jon turned professional. In April 2003, he passed his playing ability test at Mill River Country Club in Stratford CT. In November 2007, Jon graduated from the Professional Golf Management Program. He was elected to PGA Membership in December 2007. A 1998 graduate of Trumbull's St. Joseph's High School, Jon is very familiar with Tashua Knolls and the town of Trumbull.


Dave Bove
— PGA Teaching Professional
Dave Bove joined the Tashua staff at the beginning of the 2009 season as PGA First Assistant Golf Professional. He is a graduate of the PGA Golf Management Program at Campbell University, as well as a recipient of the 2009 Paul Runyan Collegiate Golf Management Scholarship, awarded annually to top students in the country. Dave is an Authorized Instructor of The Golfing Machine, having earned the designation Golf Stroke Engineering Bachelors (GSEB). He is the first and only Authorized Instructor of The Golfing Machine in the state of Connecticut and one of just 215 worldwide. Dave is also a member of the prestigious AMF Golf Management Instructor Division and was elected to membership with the Professional Golfers' Association of America (PGA) in May of 2009. In 2011, Dave earned the designation as Certified Golf Fitness Instructor (CGFI) by the Titleist Performance Institute. He was raised in Trumbull, attended Trumbull High School and has been playing golf at Tashua Knolls for more than 15 years. Prior to Tashua Knolls, Dave worked at Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich, CT and Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, CT.


Chris Boyd — Assistant Golf Professional
Chris Boyd has been part of the Tashua staff since 2005 and having passed his PGA Playing Ability Test at Mill River Country Club in 2009, is currently enrolled in the PGA's Professional Golf Management Program.

Hidalgo Nagashima — Property Director
Hidalgo joined Tashua at the beginning of the 2002 golf season and is responsible for all aspects of maintaining and improving our 27-hole golf facility. Prior to coming to Trumbull, Hidalgo served as Golf Course Superintendent at Van Cortland Golf Course (Bronx NY) and as Assistant Superintendent at Pelham/Split Rock Golf Course (Pelham NY). With more than a decade of experience, Hidalgo was instrumental in leading the efforts to open the new Tashua Glen 9-hole course in early August 2005. He is a member in good standing of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). Hidalgo is a 1990 graduate of SUNY/Albany and also has an AAS in Plant Science from SUNY/College of Agriculture and TEchnology at Cobleskill and has completed the Turfgrass Management Short Course at Cornell University.
